Traffic Offenses
One of the responsibilities of the Scott County Attorney’s Office is prosecuting traffic offenses. Charges that appear on the traffic docket include DUI, no insurance, speeding, operating on a suspended license, and numerous other offenses.
If you have been charged with an offense such as No Insurance, No Operator’s License, No Registration, or any other offense and wish to submit proof to the County, you may bring that proof to our office or email your proof to [email protected] or [email protected]. You may also submit your proof to the Scott Circuit Clerk’s Office or bring your proof to court with you.
Drive Safe Program
If you have been charged with a minor traffic violation such as speeding, disregarding a traffic control device, failure to or improper signal, or disregarding a stop sign, you may be eligible to participate in the Drive Safe Kentucky Traffic Safety Program offered by the Scott County Attorney’s Office. The cost is less than the prepayable fine and requires you to complete an online driver education and safety course which teaches and promotes highway safety. Once completed, the ticket will be dismissed with no points assessed against your license and not appear against your driving record. You may request this program by enrolling online at www.drivesafekentucky.com. If approved, you will receive an email from the prosecutor’s office. If you have a problem requesting the program, please call the Drive Safe Kentucky office at (866) 703 – 7772.
